A Short Story

Fairy Tales of Far Off Places

“Eons ago, in a far off land, lived a very noble man, by the name of Cyrius.
"Cyrius was a very beautiful man. He had golden locks that fell to his shoulders, blue eyes that could sort of just look into your soul, his smile was startlingly bright and - ”

“Honestly, Remus, that's how your going to tell the story. Do you really think the kids will understand all that, 'Eons ago' garbage. Honestly”
“How else would I tell it.”
     “You wouldn't. I would. And I am.”

“In a land far, far away lives a handsome man with blonde hair, that was as long as his shoulders. He had blue eyes that were so clear that you were sure he was looking inside of you. And his smile, his smile, one look at it and you would have the best day ever. He was also so kind. HE helped the elderly with their things and he played with the children...

“No, Jesse, if you hold the ball that way, it will role away.” said a girl with curly black hair
“But, Carolie, this is the Cyrius told me to hold it.” said the young boy named Jesse, who had greasy brown hair.
“I don't care, and I don't want to lose another ball.”
“Carolie, Jesse, Cyrius is coming, can we use your ball.” said a little girl with brown hair and freckles.
    “No.” said Carolie
    “Please,” said the girl.
    “NO!”
“It's not you ball” said Jesse, “It's mine. And I say Ella can use it.”
“But, Jesse, it will just get lost again.”
    “I don't care.”
“Well I do. Mother will not let us come to the park if we lose it again.”
    “I don't care”
They went on like this for 3 minutes when all the sudden a very strong, but sweet voice spoke.”
    “Hello, children.”
    “Cyrius!” they both said.
    “May I use your ball?”
“Yes, sir, you may.” said Jesse.
    “Thank you, Jesse.”
“Actually, sir,” said Carolie, “You can't use our ball for it may get lost.”
    “Alright, that's okay.” said Cyrius.
“No, sir, it's my ball, and I say you can use it.” said Jesse.
“Jesse, we can not lose it again,” said Carolie, “Because we will not be able to play.”
“But, Carolie, we are not playing now” protested Jesse.
“Well, I guess you're correct, but promise you won't lose it.”
   “Alright.” said Jesse running off.
“Say Carolie, why don't you play with us?” asked Cyrius.
“Oh no,” said Carolie, “I'm much too old.”
“Oh, is there an age limit to fun?”
“My mother says so,” said Carolie.
   “I see, alr -”

  “Hold up!”
  “What is it.”
“That's how your going to tell the story.”
“Yes, it's better than what you were doing. At least the kids can understand me.”
“ Well now! At least I tell it like it is!”
“Oh really! Golden locks, bright blue eyes blah, blah, blah, blah!”
“That is not how I sound!”
   “Yes it is!”
   “Argh!”
   “Aay!”
   “HUNGH!”
   “BLALALAH!!”
